In house Ann, we designed, created and built the Kitchen, Built-in cupboards, bedroom suite and the bathrooms. The goal was to create a modern, elegant but functional design. We brought a high gloss theme throughout the finishing as the continual thread. All doors and drawers’ frontals were manufactured in wood veneers and then sprayed high gloss duco to give it a nice elegant finish. We also used aluminium frames and smoked black gloss was used in areas to give a contrast.
The internal carcass and shelving is constructed primarily from white melamine on chipboard with a 1mm veneer edges. At Studio Merkmann, we only use BLUM for both doors and drawers. We use these BLUM products as we believe they are at the utmost quality and they are now available in a variety of soft-close (silent) options. Due to the increase in demand for soft close hinges, we have now made soft close hinges a standard feature in all of our Studio Merkmann cabinetry.
The finishing touch was the addition of 30mm Alaska Ceaserstone tops in the kitchen. The colour provided the contrast needed to give the kitchen a nice modern feel, accompanied with the high gloss finish it worked beautifully.
